At Geeknson we're all highly passionate about designing and crafting things that merge top notch furniture with our favourite hobby - board games. Over the years we have created tons of increasingly modular tables that can be tailored to various board games, toys and ways of partying. Our tables are entering more and more households, board game cafes or even offices around the world. Not to mention various events like the UKGE.

Today we want to talk about one of the awards we were presented with that we’re really happy about. We’re talking about TENTACCOLADE 2020.

A Tentacled Award

TENTACCOLADE was created by a popular board game news website called KA News. It was awarded for the first time back in 2018 and then in every following year. Editors of the website pick their favourite games, game settings, accessories, artists, expansions, crowdfunding campaigns and many other categories. Winners get either bronze, silver or gold TENTACCOLADE for their creations.

“The Best Table to Play Board Games”

Last year, our own product got awarded by the aforementioned award for the first time. The Megan Board Game Table, which had two Kickstarter campaigns in 2020, was named the best in the Best Board Game Accessory category and won the gold award. The editors from KA have called it their “number one”. We’re especially happy about Megan being called “the best table to play board games”. After all the effort put into designing, crafting and shipping it to all of you, this sounds incredibly rewarding. 

KA News also praised the amount of Kickstarter campaign freebies added to each table completely for free. All of them improve the thing, add new functionalities and are equally sturdy and resistant. 

Finally: lots of praise was given to the modularity of the entire Megan board game table line. We keep on adding more and more of this to our newer projects and backers seem to be loving it. Making your own gaming furniture tailored to your games and your needs always sounds great.

The Megan Board Game Table

Time to introduce Megan to these of you who haven’t heard about it or need a little refresher. Like the people at KA News said: all tables in the Megan family are “made from durable, Wild European Oak”. They come in different sizes and thanks to the outer rail, you can attach a wide array of add-ons and accessories to them. The popular Cat Holder is one of the best examples.

Right now on our online store you can get 4 different models of Megan: Coffee, Medium, Large and a hexagonal table called Megan Hex. Each comes with many stain styles and inset colours to customize your piece with. They also have inner and outer rails for attaching various useful things. There’s also a system of protective wooden leaves that are a part of the Keep Dry System which safeguards the inner part of your table from liquids. Backers and buyers also get a useful strake board with their order.

We’re happy that our table was noticed and got so many warm reviews. We will keep up the good job and come up with even more fantastic, modular gaming related furniture. Stay tuned!
